Badung's Second-Half Events Calendar Has Three Dates Worth Watching

Pandawa, Taman Ayun and two community traditions in September lead Badung’s updated 2026 calendar. Treat the dates as a planning signal, not a final programme.

Badung is usually sold through resorts: Kuta, Seminyak, Canggu, Jimbaran, Nusa Dua and the Bukit. Its cultural calendar is the useful counterweight. The regency's updated programme for the second half of 2026 puts several events within reach of the areas where most visitors are already staying.

July: Semarak Pandawa Festival

Pandawa Beach's annual festival brings Balinese performance, music, dance, craft and food to one of the Bukit's most dramatic coastal settings. Detailed performance times were still to be announced when the update was published, so do not build a non-refundable day around an assumed start time.

If the programme aligns, combine it with a southern-Bukit day rather than driving down from Ubud solely for one show. The access road and exposed beach are part of the experience; midday heat is not.

September: Taman Ayun Barong Festival

Taman Ayun Temple in Mengwi is expected to host its annual Barong festival in September. The UNESCO-listed temple receives fewer international visitors than Tanah Lot or Uluwatu and is a strong cultural stop even without an event. With the festival, it becomes a much better reason to route through Mengwi rather than merely passing it.

26 September: Siat Geni and Siat Tipat

Two community traditions are listed for the same date. Siat Geni in Tuban is a fire-fighting ritual involving young men from local banjars and burning coconut husks. Siat Tipat at Pura Desa Kamal in Mengwi is a ritual contest using rice cakes. These are living community traditions, not staged entertainment.

Stand where organisers direct, dress for a temple setting when relevant, keep drones away, and never push into the working space for a photograph.

Before you go

Balinese event dates and timings move. Weather, temple decisions and local ceremonial calendars can alter the programme after a tourism calendar is published. Verify with Badung Tourism or the venue close to the date, then arrive early enough to understand where visitors should stand.

Our Bali events calendar keeps the larger annual picture in one place.
